About
Jonathan is an oil painter based near St Andrews in Fife. He is best known for paintings of St Andrews, the Fife coast, Scottish landscape, and still life.
Born in South Africa, Jonathan studied drawing and illustration at Falmouth University and now lives and works near St Andrews. He loves the Scottish countryside and St Andrews, for their beauty and the quality of their light, from soft coastal mornings to long golden evenings.
His paintings have been shown in galleries across the UK, including the Mall Galleries in London, Aberdeen Art Gallery, Open Eye Gallery in Edinburgh, Frames Gallery in Perth, Beside the Wave Gallery and Falmouth Art Gallery in Falmouth. In St Andrews he has exhibited at Gallery Franklin (formerly the Fraser Gallery), where he has had two solo shows and where his work is available throughout the year in group exhibitions.
